It has been almost 90 years since the former owner Tomoichi Yamada opened a secondhand bookstore in 1936.
The store went through and survived times of the war and postwar upheaval.
At first it mainly specialized in first edition books, but later expanded its business to ukiyo-e with encouragement from an ukiyo-e researcher Kendo Ishii. Then the field gradually grew to include shin-hanga and sosaku hanga.
Today, thanks to the internet, we are able to show you our items available online.
